Today, we've opened our new forums section. The phpbb script has been replaced with mybb, which comes with better attachment support and some other nice features.

If you already have an account at our old forum, please re-register at the new forum.

The new video section is now open, replacing the old one. Now all videos are in high definition quality (1280x720) encoded in Windows Media Video 9 format. You can download these videos or watch them via the embeded flash player (988x556 resolution).

Some new features are the ability to vote, report problem, tell a friend and views/downloads stats.

Project Opensky released their long awaited Boeing 777-200 version 2. The first version was released back in the days of Flight Simulator 2000. The new version is nothing like the old one and is developer for FS2004 (but also compatible with FSX).

Many advanced animations are added like ultra realistic landing gear animation, flexing wings depending on lift, and much more. A virtual cockpit is optional. See our review for more info:

Since a few days, we're redirecting visitors of the aircraft reviews section to the new pages. Right now, we're moving all reviews from the static pages to the database of the new section.

The new reviews section has a lot more features than the old one. Now all pages are dynamically created by using php and mysql. In the old section, we used a seperate php script for the comments, now it's all part of one script. Besides the ability to comment, you now can also rate an aircraft and see the download and view stats.

The layout has also been changed. The large versions of screenshots will no longer open in a new browser window or tab, but it will show in the page itself when you click on a thumbnail. Payware aircraft are now listed with a price indication. Note that it is only an indication, the real price may vary due to price difference between various publishers and sale actions. Flightsimulatorguide.com does not sell any payware, instead we link to various publishers and webstores.

Today, we've released our new layout for at least a part of the website. Due to some technical issues, some of the dynamic parts of this website are offline. These sections are powered by php scripts which are not compatible anymore with this server. So we are working on alternative dynamic pages for the image and aviation humor section.

Note that not all static or dynamic pages are converted to the new layout yet. This will be done within a few weeks. Also, some parts that are already converted to the new layout may be changed as well.
