Project Airbus A319

review

Project Airbus released their A319 in July 2008. Two A319 models are available: A CFM powered and a IAE powered model. Just like iFDG's A319, there is only an exterior model, you need to find a panel and sound set yourself, or use one of the default panels/sound sets. The exterior looks very good, many small details like retractable landing lights, realistic moving flap and spoiler parts, realistic thrust reverser behaviour, etc. The liveries available on the Project Airbus website and in the AVSIM Library are high in quality and make this A319 almost look real.

The flight dynamics are very well balanced and the behaviour of the landing gear and the rudder is very realistic. The dynamic jetwash/jetheat however doesn't look very realistic, although that might be a matter of taste. You can disable the jetwash with the Water rudder up/down command (not assigned to a key binding by default). The aircraft is compatible with FSX, however, the strobe and beacon timing may appear too fast. Unlike their A320, the A319 does have dynamic flexing wings.

Project airbus's aircraft is good except they have that reverse thruster problem, where the reverse thruster slider has a delay. I personally prefer iFDG.

The plane is a great one. The only thing i do not like about it is the stalls. I do not know if it is real but it is intresting because it does not easily pich over like the traditional Boeing would. And yes, they are two different airframes, but it is very annoying close to the ground. The Autopilot with the ILS is very good, with the Default A321 VC and Panel for FSX.

    To Iheart707,

I would like to know how you got the A321 VC into the Project Airbus. I downloaded an A320 IAE package from avsim.com but I have no idea how they did it. I would love to have the VC in my PA A319 CFM or 320 CFM.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    cheers, Bill
