Lago - The Twin Otter

review

The de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter is a STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) turboprop utility aircraft and with more than 800 built, the most successful aircraft program in Canada's history. Development of the aircraft began in 1964, with the construction of a prototype in November 1964. The first flight was on 20 May 1965. The DHC-6 can carry 19-20 passengers over a distance of 920 nm (1,705 km) and is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-27 turboprop engines.

The Lago Dash 6-300 Twin Otter package comes with four different Twin Otter models: on wheels, on floats, amphibious and the on skis model. The package has been available since 2002 and is compatible with FS2002 and FS2004. Although the model is outdated, the exterior looks quite good. The panel looks ok and most aircraft systems are simulated. The virtual cockpit is simple with low resolution textures and almost no buttons and switches clickable. Wingviews are not available. All usual animations are present including opening doors. There are many liveries included for all four models, but the textures lack dirt effects and other details. 20 euro seems too much money for a outdated model like this.
