This aircraft is developed for FS2004, but it can work in FSX as well. The panel doesn't work, so you have to use one of the panels of the default FSX aircraft. Also, the propeller doesn't look right when the engines are running, but it's not a big deal. In the installation instructions below, we alias the default Beech King Air 350 panel to the Saab 2000. Installation instructions for FSX users 1. Download the package (bsmps2k11.zip) from the BSMP website and unzip to a temporary folder. Then, run the installer and choose another folder than the default FS2004 folder and allow the installer to create that new folder. For example, install to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 8\ 2. Copy the folder "BSMPS2KV1.1" that is inside the aircraft folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 8\Aircraft\ ) to the aircraft folder of FSX (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\ ). 3. Go to the panel folder which is inside the folder "BSMPS2KV1.1" (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\BSMPS2KV1.1\panel\ ) and open the file panel.cfg with notepad or another text editor. Select all text and replace it with this: [fltsim] alias=Beech_King_Air_350\panel Save and close the file. 4. OPTIONAL: Thumbnail image for the aircraft selection list. Right-click on the images below and choose "Save Picture As..." or "Save Image As...", browse to the folder \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\BSMPS2KV1.1\ and choose between the texture folders. The text below the image tells you which texture folder you need to save the thumbnail image in. (e.g. \BSMPS2KV1.1\texture.airfrance\ ).

Next time when you start FSX, the aircraft should be visible in the aircraft selection list and work fine. If you download additional liveries, you can make thumbnail images yourself: you need to make a screenshot of each livery of the aircraft and resize it to 256x128 pixels (use an image editor like photoshop, paintshop or whatever you prefer). Make sure the image format is JPG and name each of them "thumbnail.jpg". Then copy the image to each texture folder inside the aircraft folder

This aircraft is developed for FS2004, but it can work in FSX as well. The panel doesn't work, so you have to use one of the panels of the default FSX planes. Also, the texture for the propeller (ATPPropDisk.bmp) is not compatible with FSX, so you'll see a black disk when the engines are running.

Installation of the Ilyushin Il-96 in FSX This aircraft is fully compatible with FSX. Follow these directions if you want to fly this aircraft in FSX: 1. Unzip ilyushinil96.zip to a temp. folder. Go to the temp. folder and run the installer (install_il96.exe). When the installer asks you to choose an installation folder, make sure it's a different location than where your FSX or FS2004 is installed. For example: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 10 . Then press next and the installer will ask you if it's alright to create a new directory (folder). Click on "Yes" and wait until the aircraft has been installed. 2. Now go to the folder called "aircraft" which is now in the new folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 10\Aircraft\ ). In that folder, you'll see another folder "Ilyushin Il96". Copy that folder to the aircraft folder of FSX (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\ ). 3. Now you can delete the folder that you've created for the installation (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 10\). Make sure you don't delete the real FS2004 or FSX folder! 4. Go to the sound folder of the Ilyushin Il96 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Ilyushin Il96\sound\) and open the file "sound.cfg". Change: [fltsim] alias=b737_400\sound to: [fltsim] alias=b737_800\sound 5. OPTIONAL: Thumbnail image for the aircraft selection list. Right-click on the image below and choose "Save Picture As..." or "Save Image As...", browse to the folder \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Ilyushin Il96\ and save the thumbnail.jpg image.

Installation instructions FS2004 Since there are many versions and updates available for these aircraft, it is not simple to know which one to install first etc. For that reason, we've written some instructions divided in steps from 1-9. If followed correctly, you should have the Il-96-300, -400 and 96M fully working including engine sounds. In these instructions, it is assumed that you use Windows XP and the default C: disk installation of FS2004. 1. Download "il-96-400-il-96-300.zip" and unzip to a temp. folder. Go to the temp. folder and copy the contents of the folder "Aircraft(FS9)SimObjects-Airplanes(FSX)" to the aircraft folder of FS2004 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\ ). 2. Still in the temp. folder, copy the contents of the "Gauges" folder to the main gauges folder of FS2004 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Gauges\ ). 3. Download "project_il-96_il-96-300v3.zip" and unzip to a temp. folder. Go to the temp. folder and copy the folders "model.V3", "model.V3p", "texture.President" and "texture.russia1" to the "Ilyushin Il-96-300" folder inside the aircraft folder of FS2004 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Ilyushin Il-96-300\ ). 4. Still in the temp. folder, open the file "Add to Aircraft.cfg.txt" with notepad. Copy all text to the clipboard. Then, go to the "Ilyushin Il-96-300" folder inside the aircraft folder of FS2004 and open the file "aircraft.cfg" with notepad. Paste the text that you've copied to the clipboard inside this file, below the first [fltsim] entry. That's between "description=Test Dynamics for 96-300" and "[General]". Now we have to edit a few things. a. Change "[fltsim.x]" to "[fltsim.1]" and change "[fltsim.x+1]" to "[fltsim.2]". b. Change "sim=96M" to "sim=96-300" for each entry ([fltsim.1] and [fltsim.2]). c. Remove the number "2" behind each "panel=". Download "il-96m_v.0.8_install.zip" and unzip to a temp. folder. Go to the temp. folder and run the installer (IL-96M v.0.8 install.exe). 7. Download "ilyushin_il-96m_v.0.8_to_v.0.9.zip" and unzip to a temp. folder. Go to the temp. folder and run the installer (IL-96M v.0.8 to v.0.9 install.exe). 8. Download "project_96_v.0.8.5.zip" and unzip to a temp. folder. Go to the temp. folder and copy the contents of the folder "96-400" to the "Ilyushin Il-96-400" folder inside the aircraft folder of FS2004 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Ilyushin Il-96-400\). Then, open the file "aircraft.cfg" inside the "Ilyushin Il-96-400" folder which is inside the aircraft folder of FS2004. Change "sim=96M" to "sim=96-400". The [fltsim.0] section should look like this now: [fltsim.0] title=Ilyusin Il-96-400 Aeroflot VC sim=96-400 model=V2 panel= sound= texture=Aeroflot kb_checklists= kb_reference= atc_id=RA-96110 atc_airline=Aeroflot atc_flight_number=96110 atc_heavy=1 ui_manufacturer=Ilyushin ui_type=Il-96-400 ui_variation=Aeroflot VC description=Test Dynamics for 96-400 & 96M �� Again, go to the temp. folder and copy the contents of the folder "96M" to the "Ilyushin Il-96M" folder inside the aircraft folder of FS2004 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Ilyushin Il-96M\). Do NOT the same with the 96-300, since that version is already updated to V3. Just ignore the V2 files for the -300 version. 9. Go to the sound folder of the Ilyushin Il-96-400 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Ilyushin Il-96-400\Sound\) and open the file "sound.cfg". Change: [fltsim] alias=fsfsconv\747-sound to: [fltsim] alias=Ilyushin Il-96M\sound Do the same with the sound.cfg file of the Ilyushin Il-96-300 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Ilyushin Il-96-300\Sound\). Installation instructions FSX These instructions are different from the FS2004 instructions. The later updates include gauges that are not compatible with FSX, so we don't need them. In these instructions, it is assumed that you use Windows XP and the default C: disk installation of FSX. Note that the main landing gear and gear doors might not animate properly in FSX. 1. Download "il-96-400-il-96-300.zip" and unzip to a temp. folder. Go to the temp. folder and copy the contents of the folder "Aircraft(FS9)SimObjects-Airplanes(FSX)" to the aircraft folder of FSX (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\ ). 2. Smoke effect (only for FS2004) The effect file for the smoke effect seems to be missing. If you want to see engine smoke, download this smoke effect , unzip and place the file "SMOKE_JT8D.fx" in the main effects folder of FS2004 (assuming that your FS2004 is installed on your C: drive): C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Effects\ Then, go to the Il-86 aircraft folder and open the aircraft.cfg file with notepad or another text editor: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Ilyushin Il-86\ Look for the text that says: [SMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0=-5.00, -2.00, -57.167, fx_smoke_rx smoke.1=-5.00, -2.00, -33.833, fx_smoke_rx smoke.2=-5.00, -2.00, 33.833, fx_smoke_rx smoke.3=-5.00, -2.00, 57.167, fx_smoke_rx Change it to: [SMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0=-5.00, -2.00, -57.167, SMOKE_JT8D.fx smoke.1=-5.00, -2.00, -33.833, SMOKE_JT8D.fx smoke.2=-5.00, -2.00, 33.833, SMOKE_JT8D.fx smoke.3=-5.00, -2.00, 57.167, SMOKE_JT8D.fx Save and close the file. Follow these directions if you want to fly this aircraft in FSX: 1. Run the installer (Ilyushin_Il86_setup.exe) and when the installer asks you to choose an installation folder, make sure it's a different location than where your FSX or FS2004 is installed. For example: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 10 . Then press next and the installer will ask you if it's alright to create a new directory (folder). Click on "Yes" and wait until the aircraft has been installed. Do the same for the update, install it to that location as well (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 10). 2. Now go to the folder called "aircraft" which is now in the new folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 10\Aircraft\ ). In that folder, you'll see another folder called "Ilyushin Il-86". Copy that folder to the aircraft folder of FSX (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\ ). 3. Now you can delete the folder that you've created for the installation (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 10\). Make sure you don't delete the real FS2004 or FSX folder! 4. Go to the panel folder of the Ilyushin Il-86 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Ilyushin Il-86\panel\) and delete all files except "default_panel.cfg". After that, rename "default_panel.cfg" to "panel.cfg". Now it will use the default B747-400 panel of FSX. Note that some parts of the panel are not working in combination of this aircraft. 5. OPTIONAL: Thumbnail image for the aircraft selection list. Right-click on the image below and choose "Save Picture As..." or "Save Image As...", browse to the folder \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Ilyushin Il-86\ and save the thumbnail.jpg image.
